What is Supplemental Health Insurance?
These are policies are meant to supplement your major medical health insurance plan. These plans are not compliant with the Affordable Care Act plans and typically are not recommended to be used as major medical coverage. Supplemental health insurance plans are used as a means to help pay for some of your health care costs that are not covered by your major medical plan.
These policies are not to be confused with Medicare Supplement Insurance plans. Examples of types of Supplemental Health Insurance plans include:
